SPARTANBURG, SC – A man has been charged with felony DUI with death for his role in a fatal car accident that took place in Spartanburg this weekend, FOX Carolina reports.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident took place shortly before 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, when Trent Matthew Neal drove through a red light at the intersection of Asheville Highway/US 176 and Springfield Road and struck a 2001 Toyota Camry. The Camry then caromed into a 2017 Honda Pilot.
Khouanexay “Bill” Sivilay, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene. Neal was also injured, while the driver of the Pilot was unhurt.
State police believe that Neal, 21, was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
