HORRY COUNTY, SC – A 33-year-old woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle died after the motorcycle rear-ended a 2009 Subaru on Tuesday evening.
On January, 12, 2021, a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Highway 544 when it struck the Subaru who was turning left onto Glenmere Drive, according to WBTW. The fatal collision occurred around 6:15 p.m.
Kathryn Leddy, a passenger on the motorcycle, was ejected from the Harley and pronounced dead at the crash scene. The unidentified driver of the motorcycle was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center for unknown injuries. Police report neither Leddy or the motorcycle driver were wearing helmets.
The unidentified Subaru driver was transported to South Strand Medical Center for unknown injuries.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
