MYRTLE BEACH, SC – A fifth victim in Saturday’s fatal Harrelson Boulevard crash died at the hospital and was identified by police.

According to WPDE, police identified another person who was killed in the crash that occurred on Harrelson Boulevard west of Highway 15 around 1:30 a.m. on January, 23, 2021. Lake City resident Jamar Matthews, 18, was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police report when they responded to the scene they discovered a partially submerged vehicle in a pond. They found six people total in the crash. Three people were in the pond and the other three were on the shore.
Four people were previously announced dead and identified by the police. Those included: 20-year-old Shiquan Graham, of Lake City, 23-year-old Thomas McDowell, of Lake City, 22-year-old Niterria Johnson, of Winston-Salem, NC, and a 17-year-old female from Winston-Salem, NC.
Two people, including Matthews, were in the hospital for unknown injuries. The current condition of the other hospitalized victim is unknown.
It is unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
