On Saturday, January 30, 2021, Timothy Hurney was killed in the crash that involved a motorcycle and vehicle, according to WBTW. The fatal crash occurred in the 400 block of Holmestown Road between Highway 707 and Scipio Lane around 2:26 p.m.
Horry SC Fire Rescue announced Hurney had been a volunteer with their department out of Station 20 on Scipio Lane since November.
It is unclear if Hurney was a driver or occupant on the motorcycle or vehicle.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
