LAURENS COUNTY, SC – A 55-year-old Cross Hills driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash on SC 39 on the night of Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
According to WSPA, the fatal accident happened on SC 39 around 7:45 p.m. South Carolina Highway Patrol reports Julienne Marie Burgeson-Butkus was traveling south on SC 39 when she traveled off the right side of the road and over-corrected. This caused her vehicle to go off the left side of the road and hit a tree.
Burgeson-Butkus was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
