DARLINGTON CO, S.C. – A man died in a two-vehicle collision that took place west of the city of Darlington on Friday, February 5, 2021.
WMBF reports that Bryson Gibson, a 24-year-old resident of Florence, was driving on Bethel Road near Highway 34 when he lost control of his 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer. Gibson overcorrected after the Lancer ran off the roadway, causing it to cross the center line and collide with an oncoming Nissan Pathfinder. Gibson died at the scene, while two passengers in the Pathfinder were taken to local hospitals.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, and the driver of the Pathfinder does not seem to have been hurt.
