SLABTOWN, SC (ANDERSON COUNTY) – A Michelin worker was killed in a head-on collision this morning on Highway 88 in Anderson County, according to WSPA.
The crash occurred on Highway 88, also known as Old Greenville Highway, near Mountain View Road, at about 8:40 a.m. on February 27, when 31-year-old Piedmont man Joshua Bernard Williams was leaving his night shift work at Michelin.
He went over the center line and into the lane of oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with the driver of a Ford pickup truck.
Williams died at the scene.
The driver of the pickup, who was not immediately identified, was taken to the hospital with minor wounds.
The accident remains under investigation at this time by the Ander County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
