LEXINGTON CO., SC – Two people have been killed while attempting to cross the highway after their car broke down early Saturday morning, reports WIS 10.
The accident occurred just after 4:00 AM on February 27th on I-26 near Exit 119. The car had broken down on the median of the highway, and the occupants were attempting to cross I-26 westbound when a car hit them. Both victims died at the scene of the accident. The coroner’s office has identified them as 64-year-old Frank Bates and 70-year-old Bobbie Jenkins.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
