YORK CO., SC – One person died in a single-vehicle crash after losing control of their vehicle and veering off the roadway early Tuesday morning, reports The Charlotte Observer.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Flint Hill Road somewhere between U.S. 21 and S.C. 51 at around 12:10 AM on March 2nd. The driver had been traveling north when they lost control of their 2002 Chevrolet SUV. The vehicle exited the roadway, crashed into a tree, and subsequently overturned.
The driver had not been wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The York County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the identity of the deceased.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the accident.
