BLYTHEWOOD, SC – Both the person killed and the trucker charged in the fatal hit-and-run in Blythewood last Thursday have been identified, reports WIS.
The accident previously reported on by Evans Moore, LLC took place on Langford Road around 7:00 AM on March 18th. The driver of a tractor-trailer, identified as 69-year-old Joseph Gaither, attempted to make a U-turn in the middle of the road and struck a 2001 Dodge truck. Gaither then fled the scene.
The driver of the Dodge was taken to the hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. They have been identified as 68-year-old Stanley D. Fisher.
Gaither was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death and remains in custody.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
