ANDERSON CO., SC – One person was killed as the result of an accident involving a motorcycle, a pickup truck, and a Jeep Wednesday evening, reports WYFF.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 28 Bypass near Monitor Drive at around 5:30 PM on March 24th. A Harley Davidson motorcycle struck a pickup truck that had been attempting to turn onto the highway from a private drive. The motorcyclist was thrown from their vehicle and subsequently hit by a Jeep traveling east on Highway 28.
The coroner’s office has identified the victim as 50-year-old Austin Neal Shirley. He had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck was injured and transported to the hospital. Their current condition is unknown.
