GAFFNEY, SC – A motorcyclist has died and another driver has been hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon, reports WSPA.
The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office reports that the accident took place in the 1500 block of Old Georgia Highway around 3:00 PM on March 30th. The motorcyclist had been traveling southbound when they crossed over the center line and collided head on with an SUV.
The motorcyclist had not been wearing a helmet and unfortunately died at the scene. The coroner’s office has identified them as 47-year-old David Marion Rumfelt, II.
The driver of the SUV remains in the hospital. Their condition is unknown.
The Gaffney Police Department and The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the accident.
