CHARLESTON, SC – 25-year-old Madison Slawson was charged with driving under the influence after a head-on collision shut down I 526 early Friday morning, reports WYFF.
According to the Charleston Police Department, Slawson had been driving the wrong way on I 526 in the West Ashley area around 1:30 AM on April 9th. Her vehicle collided head-on with an oil tanker.
Oil spilled onto the interstate as a result of the crash, and the westbound lanes had to be shut down for six and a half hours.
Slawson was treated for non-life threatening injuries and is being held in Al Cannon Detention Center.
