SUMTER CO., SC – One person has died and two people were injured after a head-on collision Tuesday evening, reports WIS.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident took place at the intersection of U.S. 15 and Beulah Cuttino Road around 6:15 PM on April 20th. A Ford Mustang attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone on U.S. 15 and subsequently struck a Jeep head-on. Both vehicles exited the roadway as a result of the crash, and the Jeep overturned.
The driver of the Mustang was ejected from the vehicle and unfortunately died at the scene. The coroner’s office has identified them as 46-year-old Jaime Montgomery.
A passenger was trapped in the Mustang following the crash. After being rescued, they were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries and is in stable condition.
