YORK CO., SC – One person was killed after losing control of their vehicle and crashing on I 77 Tuesday afternoon, reports The Herald.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on I 77 near mile marker 89, about a mile south of the North Carolina state line, around 1:00 PM on April 27th. A 2010 Kia Rio crashed into the median before running off the right side of the highway. The vehicle then collided head-on with a tree and caught fire.
The driver sadly died at the scene. The coroner’s office has not released the identity of the victim.
