CHARLESTON, SC – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a driver on the Savannah Highway in west Charleston late last night, according to the Charleston Police Department.

The crash occurred at 2545 Savannah Highway northbound, west of Dobbin Road, at about 9:40 p.m. May 1, after a driver collided with a pedestrian.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Northbound traffic was diverted to the southbound direction as authorities investigated the crash. By 12:49 a.m., the roadway was once again clear.
