SOUTH SUMTER, SC – A woman was killed, and another person was hospitalized following a collision on Highway 521 in South Sumter on Friday afternoon, according to WIS TV.
The crash happened on Highway 521 and Wendemere Drive at about 2:30 p.m. on May 7, as the driver of a 1994 Chevrolet collided with a 2020 Honda Fit making a left turn.
The driver of the Honda, Myra Rahenkamp, 64, died at the scene.
The other driver, who was not immediately identified, was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Authorities have scheduled an autopsy for Rahenkamp for Tuesday. Their investigation into the crash continues at this time.
