COLUMBIA, SC – A driver is facing multiple charges after he allegedly struck a bicyclist, then fled the scene of the fatal crash in Columbia on Friday night, according to WIS TV.
The collision happened on Fairfield Road, near Crawford Road, at about 10:30 p.m. May 7, when 27-year-old Jacobi Green allegedly struck a person on a dirt bike.
Green fled the crash without stopping to render aid to the bicyclist, who died as a result.
Green was later taken to the hospital for evaluation. Afterwards, he was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on multiple charges, including felony, fatal DUI, fatal hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, and expired vehicle tags.
His bond hearing was set for this morning at 9:30 a.m.
