SPARTANBURG CO., SC – 19-year-old Arthur Simpson Jr. unfortunately passed away Monday night after a two-vehicle collision that took place earlier that evening, reports WYFF.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 176 at Dogwood Club Road around 9:00 PM on May 10th. Simpson was driving eastbound when he crashed into a westbound vehicle attempting to turn left onto Dogwood Club Road.
Both drivers, neither of whom had been wearing a seatbelt, were trapped in their vehicles following the crash and had to be mechanically removed. Both drivers were then transported to the hospital.
Simpson sadly succumbed to his injuries around 11:00 PM Monday night.
The other driver’s identity and condition remain unknown.
