CHESTER, SC – Alexandria McCoy has been charged with DUI after a single-vehicle accident injured four children Saturday morning, reports WSOC Charlotte.
The accident reportedly took place on Highway 97 near Gilchrist Road around 11:00 AM on June 12th. McCoy had been driving a Honda Pilot when she exited the roadway and collided with a tree.
Four children between the ages of one and ten were injured in the accident. Two were taken to a local hospital in Chester and have since been released. The other two were taken to Prisma Health in Charlotte where their condition remains unknown. The 1-year-old child is reportedly the most seriously injured.
McCoy suffered minor injuries in the accident. She has been charged with felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury and child endangerment.
