LAURENS CO., SC – One person has died and two others have been badly injured after a car chase resulted in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday evening, reports WSPA.
The accident reportedly took place on Torrington Road around 7:10 PM on June 16th. A vehicle was attempting to flee from law enforcement when it exited the roadway and collided head-on with a utility pole.
One person died at the scene. The coroner’s office has identified them as 46-year-old Christopher Butler.
Two other occupants of the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and were airlifted to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
