COLLETON CO., SC – A truck driver was seriously injured in a collision between two tractor trailers early Saturday morning, according to WCBD.
Colleton County Fire Rescue reports that the accident took place on I 95 near mile marker 46 around 2:50 AM on June 19th. One of the tractor trailers overturned on the median and collided with several trees as a result of the accident. The trailer suffered heavy damage and the watermelons it had been carrying subsequently spilled out across the interstate.
The driver of the overturned truck sustained injuries to their legs and was taken to Colleton Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the second truck was able to pull over to the side of the road and suffered no injuries.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
