FLORENCE CO., SC – A pedestrian was struck and killed while standing on the side of the road Saturday evening, reports WPDE.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on North Old Georgetown Road near John Road at 8:00 PM on June 26th. The pedestrian was reportedly standing on the shoulder of the road when a driver swerved out of their lane and struck them.
The Florence County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 42-year-old King McCrea.
It is unclear if charges will be filed against the driver.
The accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
