LORIS, SC – One person has died and two others have been hospitalized after a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon, according to WMBF.
Horry County Fire Rescue reports that the fatal accident took place on Highway 66 at Hewitt Road around 4:00 PM on June 29th. A Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound and a Jeep Cherokee was traveling eastbound when the Tahoe attempted to turn left without yielding and collided with the Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. They have yet to be identified by the coroner’s office.
Two occupants of the Tahoe were injured and taken to the hospital from the scene. Their identities and conditions are unknown.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
