GEORGETOWN CO., SC – The body of a missing boater was discovered not far from the site of a boating accident Tuesday afternoon, reports WCSC.
According to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the accident took place near the Harris Boat Landing on the North Santee River the morning of June 29th. Officials believe the victim lost control of the boat while attempting to launch it by themselves. Emergency crews discovered the overturned boat and the body later that afternoon.
The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office has yet to identify the deceased.
