HORRY CO., SC – 82-year-old Barry French was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 501 Thursday morning, reports ABC 15 News.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on Highway 501 at Conbraco Circle around 9:20 AM on July 8th. French had been driving a 2020 Kia southbound when he attempted to turn left onto Conbraco Circle and was struck by an oncoming 2015 Nissan. The Nissan subsequently exited the roadway and crashed into a ditch.
French, who had been wearing a seatbelt, suffered multiple injuries and sadly died in the emergency room at Conway Medical Center.
It is unclear if the driver of the Nissan was injured in the accident.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
