DILLON CO., SC – Two people have died and two others have been hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash between a Toyota 4-Runner and a tractor trailer Wednesday morning, reports WMBF.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on I 95 near mile marker 179 around 11:35 AM on July 14th. A tractor trailer rear-ended a 2019 Toyota 4-Runner as the Toyota was slowing down for traffic. Both vehicles subsequently exited the roadway and overturned.
The driver of the Toyota as well as one passenger sadly died at the scene. They have yet to be identified by the coroner’s office.
Another passenger in the Toyota and the driver of the tractor trailer suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
