A woman died a completely preventable death while imprisoned at the Spartanburg County Detention Center. The staff at the jail failed to take her requests for help seriously. Instead, they offered her ibuprofen to treat what turned out to be a perforated ulcer. Within a week of being imprisoned, she was dead.

Evans Moore, LLC is suing the detention center for wrongful death and medical malpractice. If our client were not imprisoned at the time she experienced this medical emergency, she would still be alive. Her untimely death falls squarely on the detention center’s failure to provide adequate medical care.
